Thinking ...

I'm still in Ohio, so posts are a bit slow and light.

So much fluff, wind and bs on Babblevision and everywhere else. I try to focus on key facts since I'm not a trader. My time frame is one year. Even if a trade can make money ST, in my experience I can lose more in the combination of taxes and losing my position date stamps that let me take advantage of future rips up.

I focus on core inflation, the Fed, jobs and unemployment claims and GDP. After that I just listen and think and try to synthesize a picture of how the world economy is, what its momentum is and how it will evolve under existing and foreseen forces. I could explain this process better using analogies to quantum path integrals of a global economic Lagrangian, but that might not be a "simple" analogy, hence not helpful. Hehehe :-)

Well, that's how I think about the world, in truth.

Still doing nothing. The CPI was OK, the INTC earnings were OK. Fear still rules.

  2. Consumer prices rose by 4.1 percent for all of 2007

    HA!

try at least 7%. but that may be mute. i totally agree with volcker. ben inherited a lot of bubbles.

seeing real creative destruction, which is deflationary.

women i worked with had her car repopped yesterday at work. she missed one payment and has bad credit, in general. funny thing is, she already sent the money in.

my how the pedlum has swung. in early 2006 she probably cud have gotten a mortgage for 500k with no money down.

  3. QQQQ trading back to 46 as noted before INTC's report...ops expo indeed...events of a fed nature pins us at 47?...odd no?

Bud...Mitt the man...we have so many good canidates it's hard to decide...just get the hildog in there, anyone can beat her.

Mern still the infaltion fighter, oh my...driving using the rear view mirror is very fed like...that is code for wrong.

  4. mite wanna re read me, there frosty. saying it may be mute, and deflationary as creative destruction is finally here.

my main pt is, the govts data is total and complete BS.

listen to companys and not the govt.

Mitt is an idiot. says MI can get thier cushy union jobs back, that nonsense. mccain is speaking da truth, those jobs are gonna forever, so u better evolve.

  5. volcker sounds like he slamming elmer more than ben, imo

  6. frosty the fact that everything people like me have been saying since 2006 is now in play, makes me more bullish longer term.

inflation will roll over if the avg american comes to grips with reality and stops living above their finances.

agree with volcker. while the media says he is poking at ben he clearly pointing out greenspans insanity.

  8. given bus inventories, imho. late this yr the govt will revise the data to show the 4th q of 07 and 1st of 08 was a recession and it is probably over 3/31, according to thier data.

in the real world the recession started in july or august and shud end this summer.

i asked cindy last nite about how HSBC is doing with mortgages and she said it doesnt seem to be getting worse and maybe a tad better. id say she has a very gud look at what is going on with the country from her perch.

    she bonused again.

i mite just become mister mom!

i feel comfortable letting a women take care of me.

    LOL

  10. hukabee as some gud ideas but anyone who believes in creationism borders on retarded. it is like after columbus came over this way, and sticking to the world is flat thesis.

bud still cant see why u like hildog over obama. u have more in common with obama, ie skin color, religion (muslim), drug preferences (cocaine). what am i missing?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mitt sounds smart and he's honest. I mjight have to send him a rich man's vote ... aka a check.

  13. The female clerk told police that a man came into the store with a semiautomatic handgun, grabbed her hair and demanded cash and cigarettes before handing her a white cloth bag.

The clerk said that as she retrieved the cigarettes she heard a gunshot and turned to confront the man, who yelled that he had shot himself.

"The bullet traveled through his right testicle ... and then into the bottom part of his leg," Kokomo police Lt. Don Whitehead said.

guess his name in jail will be "one nut"

    LOL!

  16. Mitt sure sounds like he cares about the common man.......lying to michigan voters........."your jobs are coming back"

at least mccain was honest with them....he said some jobs are never comin back t michigan

    ReplyDelete
  17. mitt saying michigan can regain its manufacturing base. id say the chances of that r slim to none and slim left town about 10 yrs ago.

at least mccain is honest about that fact

mccain/volcker in 08! that wud be a great ticket. fiscal discipline and war hungry. that wud get the economy going. get the draft back going and thin out the worlds population. we shud be fighting in korea, afghanistan, iraq, iran, gaza, pakistan, sudan, saudi arabia, egypt, pakistan and france.

  24. Mit had a good idea in Michiagn - the gov't should pay for mandated R&D by auto companies.

Sheesh. Gov't pays for defense R&D, why not car mileage R&D for CAFE mandates, etc.

This partisan nonsense and predictable platitudes of this presidential campaign does not augur well for the nation, and I fear none of the candidates of either party is capable of extricating us from the mess their partisan politics have created
