Friday = Saturday

I am declaring today a holiday, or perhaps a time translation merging Friday into Saturday. Or am I influenced by intense advanced waves from Saturday that my mind now has been taken over by the state function that it will have on Saturday morning?

LOL.

In any case, my post today will simply be a link to the text of Battleship Ben's speech today in Europe (which I listened to), explaining the problems caused by nations that undervalue currencies.

I guess Ben reads this blog. It's time for Asia nations to develop domestic demand and get off our back!

Word of the Day

"Profundity" - noun [$10]; Profound - adjective [$10]
Profound means having to showing great quality or insight.
Profundity means the state or quality of being profound.
Sentence: The immense profundity of Battleship Ben's speech today crushes his pipsqueak critics, who are shown to be simpleminded fools with no insights.

  2. "Why have officials in many emerging markets leaned against appreciation of their currencies toward levels more consistent with market fundamentals?" Mr. Bernanke asks. Mainly, he says, because they are sticking to a long-term strategy of pushing for export-led growth with cheap exchange rates.

  5. take your pick: level the playing field by exchange raes or tariffs.

The common man has had enough time with those parasite nations on his back; and has done enough to help them recover & grow. Time for them to walk on their own feet.

Bman are you against hi-frequency trading ??

    ReplyDelete
  10. yes, hi frequency trading by computers should not be permitted.

    ditto dark pools.

I want the old NYSE back - all trades open and go through the same single gateway

And put all NASD stocks into it, too.

The stock markets worked then adn the public trusted them. And one gateway is easy to regulate and watch; while numerous ones are not.

    ReplyDelete
  14. yes, he did on the bottom of page 7; did not make a big deal of it, but the statement was plain.

  15. the term, "another stimulus" is a bit off, as 've writtne many times.

A real stimulus program would help and need not be huge. To some extent it could be partly done with tax credits.
