By the way, I've been writing this blog for two years now and have written about 250,000 words. What is my most significant regret ? Easy, not actually listening and acting on my posted fear from nearly two years ago that the subprime mortgage mess might infect the entire securitization market.
Not predicting the panic of October was my biggest miss. Although I have been preaching the dangers of beefers for the entire duration of this blog, I missed the panic caused by all of them being liquidated at once by the dumb rich.
Oh well, what I don't know, I don't know. Probability has nothing to do with it. In fact, I will say now that the most foolish modern usage is asking people to predict probabilities of some future event that involves humans. Chance has nothing to do with those. All one is truly asking is for someone to measure their own ignorance, which is obviously an impossible feat.
To repeat, "What I don't know, I don't know."

- I have a pioneer mentality. My wife & I live in the woods - neighbors aren't visible except slightly in winter. Our "bunker" - hehe, really a fine home & barn - has plenty of security. We have four dogs: Krypto (age 9, Kelpie), Ava (age 13, Rat Terrier), Sky (Kelpie, age 5) and Lucky Star (age 1, kelpie). I worked as an investment banker for about 25 years, mainly in secured finance, at three major Wall Street firms and for the last 17 years with my partners at our own firm. I'm semi-retired now, managing some private corporations and business interests and doing my own trading & investing. This is not to boast, but to give you an idea I know a little about some subjects from experience. The photo is my 1943 M16 half-track which I am restoring. These armored vehicles were ubiquitous in the US Army in World War II and Korea. It's driveable.

thx bman. there r several rules when betting. usually the first is, dont bet AT ALL becuase the odds stink!
but if u do bet, bet small. 25 to 50 bucks usually gets the rush u want without laying down a dime or a nickel. another rule is u never ever bet on your team either way.
andy reid is the only coach i know who has ever lost a NFC championship game twice in the same day.

yep sheer brillance to throw a perfect pass to greg lewis, 50 yards down the field. the only problem is that i am more qualified to be in the NFL than greg lewis. GM has to be responsible for that, and that is fat andy.
no checking the wideouts at the line? both jimmy johnson and the mormon, r at fault for that.
donny threw for 375 yrd, 3 tds. had 1 picked but the cards fumbled that pick and we got the ball right back.
come on bud name 1 pro bowl wideout donny has had besides TO? warner has had fitzgerald, bouldin, beaston, holt and bruce.
