A Monday in Late August

Zollars of Yellow Roadway says truck shipments are trending lower since March. Uh ... the Fed is behind on the count.

No major catastrophies over the weekend.

I noticed that Wachovia Bank has a dividend over 5%. Darn, missed that one. I'll start a position today.

The Russell 2000 is setting up a W bottom. It needs a couple closes over 800. The other major averages might be setting up inverse H&S bottoms.

I'm going to buy an iPhone this afternoon - getting modern!

PS: The persistent bearish attitudes that I've heard since the bottom in 2003 have never stopped. I heard more today. The World is Ending! They come up with one "sign" after another. Maybe I'm delusional. But it seems that nothing is really different. The signs they see are just those of moderate growth, which has been the case for months. So I think they're just wrong - fighting the wrong war - the last war. Mostly Bubblitis, as if one crash or bear market means that another simply must be happening now.

I've officially changed my opinion. I don't think the Fed is gonna cut the fed fund rate before september meeting. The only reason to cut rates i thought was the pissin and moanin and whinin and cryin......but the market goin up may take care of that. I may change my opinion again. I'm not gonna be stubborn like our disgraceful president. More GI's dead. Prsident still says we winning.

I don't think the Fed really cares about the equity market. But I agree they probably won't cut before the meeting - they should, but won't. That is, barring a big event, like a bank failure or something else.

I'm just an innocent, objective observer hehehe ;-)

Bud, where is the list?

$ndx gap 1915 target...this would be a good week to fill it for the bulls...the longer it looms the more painful it will be...according to the Spin-em handbook.

B'man you must have real good hearing. I didn't hear any 'world is ending' commentary this weekend ( or this morning). Perhaps you are delusional. We already know you're paranoid. They cud be related.

Too funny. The president defending alberto!! The guy did everything he cud to tear up the constitution. Especially the 4th amendment. Reminds me of 'you're doin a great job brownie!'. What a pig.

PS. When i become president......alberto will be the chief white house landscaper.

Bman i did read Liars poker. But in the early 90s so i forgot alot. But i'm prety sure it didn't have any chapters titled 'beefer gutting'.

Bunkerman said...

spin's NDX 100 gap should be filled on the pullback from around 1990 to create the right shoulder of the inverse H&S bottom. hehehe ;-)

Well, I just heard some guy saying the commercial real estate sector was going to crater and lead the economy down. Having lived through other overbuilt times, I don't see how he could say that.

Re Liar's Poker - There was a great story in ioker how Salomon stuck a French guy with some crappy paper they couldn't move.

In fact, blowing up clients was a theme of the book.

Lol, I knew a couple guys mentioned in that book, so I have very vivid memories of it.

You were too young to retain it, Bud ;-)

Bunkerman...the nasty peaked it's head over the 50 day friday...GS just gutting beefers to run those stops...ping pong indeed....mind the gap, yes 1990 would be very painful for the bulls to give back 75....you must be expecting large out flows after this low volume lift.

UNG...feeling a tad gutted myself.

Nah, I was taking a nap. I did a heavy workout this morning and felt tired. I have to leave in a few minutes to go to the Apple stores.

I have 5 great CDs of Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey band - his best recordings. Those will go on my iPhone first.

Then Bunny Berigan, then Glenn Miller, then Julie Andres, then Judy Garland.

All great songs by great performers.
