Overslept again.
My dog, Spikie, requires a good bit more care now, so that means I get less unbroken sleep.
Today is a triple -witching day, so could be whippy.
Futures are up a bit now this AM.
I will not post next week, as I will be in my hometown in Ohio. It's a long drive. Mrs. B and I need to pick out some CD course or two, or a book or two, for joint listening. Ahh ... the compromises of marriage !
I'm hoping for two fine Christmas gifts for the common man: a dual cratering of Copenhagen and ObamaCare.
Word of the Day
"Copacetic" - adjective [$10]
Copacetic means very satisfactory.
Sentence: A most copacetic gift for the common man for the holidays would be a dual collapse of Copenhagen and ObamaCare. Oh please, Santa !!

Gutting their own clients in process: Re a FINRA probe -
The probe follows an article in The Wall Street Journal in August about gatherings at Goldman Sachs Group (GS) known inside the co as "trading huddles." During the meetings, Goldman analysts gave short-term tips to traders, followed by big clients. The tips sometimes differed from Goldman's long-term research. Finra's examination of the trading huddles at Goldman was expanded last month to include about 10 other firms, according to people familiar with the situation. Responses were due earlier this month
good morning Bman !!!!!
all i want for xmas is a strong dollar
.............and then perhaps i'll stop 'screeching'
short term tips differ than long term research ??? so........what's the problem
sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh..................is that all you ( or the Finra got )
so pathetic.....so lame
all clients are different...............some want to trade 4000 times a day......some want to trade 4 times a year
guttin their own beefer my ass........goldman would not be in business today if it did not take care of it's clients and shareholders and employees
lot of jealousy and bitterness in it's critics.............like ace and the Bman
i agree Bman...........no treaty out of Copenhagen will be a terrific xmas present
the climate change fairy tale has been exposed............of course Obama " reality of climate change is not in doubt"
the president is a liar
have a great xmas Bman!!!!!!
why can't you post from ohio???.................what there no f'ng internet there??? .............go to a f'ng starbux !!!!!
Bman planning my first ever trip to the range tonite or this weekend..........my friend takin me..........but i prolly sign up for a beginners and safety class
hope i don't shoot my own johnson
no common man would ever step foot in a starbucks.....no sirreeee.....
sheesh ... there are no starbux in or near my hometown.
we stay in a very nice cabin in the woods - no phone, no Internet.
uh Bud ... did ou miss that part about givng the ST tips first to in-house traders ?
THEN to big clients ?
that's gutting ones own clients ... letting in house traders position FIRST to take advantage of clients moves.
oh god..............i can't believe i have to explain this..............ok.......let's begin
if the traders make money..........the firm makes money..........if the firm makes money........the stock price goes up..........if the stock price goes up.......the shareholders make money.........very simple
verstehan sie mich, punker ?????
you sure you went to beefer university Bman ??? MIT my ass
Bman do you own a laptop ?? do you travel with it??
windows or mac
uh ... that "theory" was disproven in 2008.
The traders make money, get paid huge sums; the corporation buys back stock to prop up the value of mngt options. the stock flounders as options issuance cancels buybacks.
The traders lose huge sums, get paid "retention" bonuses.
The stock craters.
Huge numbers of new shares are issued at low prices to make up for losses.
The stocksholders dividends get cut.
Wow, what a firm ! Everyone makes money except the stockholders. Looting 101.
Do you ever goto Mrs B's folks for xmas?
Mrs. B has a laptop - windows.
If I got a new one, it would be a mac.
Bob are you going to let Bunkerman talk smack about GS like that?
not recently. Her father prefers to visit here for longer periods of time. Was here over Thankgiving for two weeks.
ohhh yeah..thats right...ura good egg bunk..lol
The final Copenhagen draft agreement which was hammered out in the early hours of Friday morning includes provisions for a global tax on financial transactions that will be paid directly to the World Bank, as President Obama prepares to bypass Congress by approving a massive transfer of wealth from America into globalist hands.
uh ... how does one get a tax imposed without Congress. ?
lol.....details details.....I read this online so it must be true...
nice try ace..............what a f'ng moron you are
36 house democrats already signed a letter opposing the transactions tax...........mostly from illinois and newyork...............the issue is dead for now
go GOLDEN KNIGHTS go
"signed a letter"
rest easy...my bad...
as if that matters
"GS 200"...thx Sal...you wrecked the frostfund, don't think I will forget, nonono running off to couchtarica to hide like a lil girl...come Jan 1 I will be back in the tank on a mission...a one man paki wrecking crew, you have been warned.
you Bunk, don't get me started...lure us into your evil lair with your fancy word of the day and book club...teaching us to buy the dips and sell the rips...year end comes, you just toss the monkies peanuts and watch them dance, in battle with the tape daily...nononono buying for you...just another dog circus for your sick twisted amusement...you should feel great shame sir.
this is not a "dip".
It's a blip, a sagging blip, a d-blip.
My god, does frosty have buck fever bad.
Something must be in season in S. Alaska now, frosty .. go hunting.
Hmmm I seems to remember this poster selling that trip back up to 1113 S&P.
I want a dip, not a d-blip.
ahh Molotova might give me one:
CNBC confirms Meredith Whitney has cut her Q4 EPS estimate for JP Morgan to $0.45 from $0.55 (consensus is $0.64) (40.12 -0.14) -Update
Beefers: she's yelled fire on your pay, now knock that stock to 35 so I can buy that REAL dip.
Well, I guess my year-end malaise cost me good money on RIMM.
Mrs. B & I compromised: no science fiction, no philosophy or history. we will listen to courses on the American Musical and Clasical Mythology.
ahh marital harmony is sharing ...
;)
Bunkerman have you caught any episodes of the new show "Jersey Shore"?
maybe you should go to the range, frosty.
Get that .458 Wincester out and make some big booms.
nope re Jersey Shore.
It's tought to watch normal TV when one goes to bed a 8PM.
Last evening Mrs. B & I watched an old Frank Sinatra "Rat Pack" TV special with Dino & Sammy on DVD.
Very good singing and comedy.
Bunk...I don't understand not buying C, what a fine profit opportunity...is it because vikram pandit...is, well you know...brown.
HAPPY ISLAMIC NEW YEAR TO YOU BUD!!!!Assalmu Alaykum
I wouldn't buy C if Pandit was Icelandic.
That company is gutshot for years.

MERRY CHRISTMAS BUNK AND FAMILY
Merci beaucoup, spin.
lol, a bit true here... carolers would have to brave a exposed walk in a KZ under spots, then a fence, various traps & pits, etc.
The cabin in the woods is a bit more exposed, though, but very remote.
;)
How long have you lived in your current bunker Bunky?
since 1984 - many, many improvements since then.
I've spend more than the place cost then
the land & location is tops, so rather than move, we've improved & added.
CalPERS has lost about $420 million in its stake in Apollo Global Management, the private equity firm preparing to go public. But that paper loss — 70% off the value since its purchase — is just the tip of the iceberg in its soured relationship with Apollo. The $198.9 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, also has more than 11% of its private equity exposure in Apollo investments, including its stake in Apollo and commitments to 10 Apollo funds, seven of which have negative performance.
CalPERS is and has been so stupid for so many years, it's sickening.
To invest whith Apollo, after what Apollo did with Credit Lyonais is really odd.
They should have a complete investigation for "unusual" activity.
I heard things in the distance past ... about other "oddities".
Merry Christmas all
enjoy the holidays
make money next week !
