Polls in, Obama Speaks

Obama's pollsters got the overnight results in and ... he speaks !

His hand-picked appointee to the homeland Security Department was being bashed - rightfully, she's a fool - and the polls showed plenty of slippage for Obama's "leadership" and job approval, so he decides to get off the beach and away from the hula girls to speak about the terrorist attack.

WSJ: "A systemic failure has occurred and I consider that totally unacceptable," the president said, referencing "a mix of human and systemic failure." In his comments, the president cited information "that could have and should have been pieced together."

Gosh, what a revelation ! Anyone, repeat anyone, motivated to protect the American people as a priority would have done something with any single piece of that data. But Obama's people did nothing. Why ? They have other priorities.

This seems to be a failure at the very top - much like W on the Katrina debacle. Three days of silence tells one all that is needed. He just doesn't see this as a priority. That's rather obvious, based on his record on Guantanamo. This is just more confirmation.

This clown is becoming dangerous. Let's hope the outcries force some changes.

Word of the Day

"Bastinado" - verb & noun [$10]; a Mencken word
Bastinado means (noun) punishment by a beating with a stick on the soles of the feet; (verb, transitive) to punish a person in this way.
Sentence: This blog intends to apply verbal bastinado to Obama and his minions whenever needed, even daily, until they start acting in the best interests of the American people.

well Bman..............i took a pistol safety and shooting lesson here locally........definitely alot of fun.............the thumping of powder ( or whatever u call it) feels good

i shot a revolver and a sigsauerp226........and 1 other semiautomatic that used 22caliber bullets

but i got a few issues with the range i go to........mainly safety.......i just don't feel safe there...........my instructor spent alot of time on safety and range ettiquette.....the 2 times i went there on my own............guys were thrown out for not observing the rules

once for takin the gun out of his holster and shooting ( the gun is always supposed to be on the ledge in front pointed in the safe direction) ......and the other time 2 friends were interchanging each other booths with pistols in hand...........very dangerous

Bud said...

besides the booths are also very close to each other..............i'm literally shooting about the 3 feet form the next guy ....with a thin wood wall between us

also indoor ranges are not that mmuch fun..............i need an outdoor range............but the problem here is all the outdoor ranges don't rent.........and i don't wanna buy til a shoot a lot of different guns.............this range i go to has over 100 different guns you can rent.........but the range sucks

true, mav.

I gave him a chance; Mrs. B warned me about that.

His deeds are now catching up to the words.

Bmanare you a member of the NRA?

Bud said...

Bman are you a Dick miller fan ?? you got any of his cd's ??

Bunkerman said...

I hadn't heard that about gingerbread. Have read a few books about daily life of Civil War soldiers: Billy Yank, Johnny Reb, etc.

Bunkerman said...

as for a gingerbread latte being "too feminine", well .. no comment.
It's too sweet.

Bud said...

i just emailed a friend of a friend of mine................he owns 3 semiautomatic rifles ( is that the correct terminology)......and he said we can all go to an outdoor range and shoot'em.............i let you know what he owns when he responds

Bunkerman said...

that range does sound dangerous, Bud. Stay away.

Bunkerman said...

an indoor place like that can be OK to test different firearms, but it's not an enjoyable place to shoot.

Bunkerman said...

re NRA, yes, I'm a Benefactor or Patron, whichever the highest level is; also a Golden Eagle.

Mrs. B is a LIfe member, too.

Bunkerman said...

Dick Miller ???

Bunkerman said...

yes, re terminolgy "semiautomatic rifles"

those are fun to shoot.

btw, practice with a .22 is a good idea - learn sighting, trigger control, etc. cheaply with no pain.

Bman....I am compiling a list for gun purchases next month...I have done extensive research but some advice from you would much appreciated...if you (Bman) had zero guns today...name the pistols, rifles and shotguns you would buy...I understand a gun is a personal preference.

Bunkerman said...

maybe there is a Dick Miller band; there were many, many big bands.

Glenn Miller is one of the greats.

Also, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman.

Top Five in my opinion. Different styles are Count Basie, Duke Ellington.

Bunkerman said...

well, Mav ... will think about it. Maybe I'll come up with ten after much culling

;)

Bunkerman said...

for hunting (four-legged beasts), it's better to ask frosty.

my focus is personal protection, practice, civil strife.

maverick said...

same here Bman....not a hunter

Mav is a big hunter of beaver and cougar...claims to already be very well equipped.

a basic for everyones home protection arsenal is a 12ga. 8 shoot room broom...I prefer the striker 12 front cylinder street sweeper.

Bunkerman said...

Here's the list, Mav.

Ruger 77-22-RSP rifle bolt .22 LR

Springfield Armory M1A rifle semi-auto .308 Win.

I own all these. I'm not sure it all are still made; they might have changed the model numbers.

Frosty said...

Sal...your best defense...practice hitting the ground in the fetal position, screaming like a lil girl...fake fingernails for scratching and consider the purchase of a reliable butt plug.

Bunkerman said...

Gun Tests magazine is pretty good for reviews, btw.

Spin-em said...

big bands, guns, civil war,20,30's show,...flazzhead full court press to get the bunky gold star favorite award ...LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO

Bunkerman said...

for auto pistols, always buy two spare magazines made by the manufacturer if possible.
Aftermarket mags are not always reliable - test them.

Those hi power rifles are mostly sniper - national match quality, except the lever action one that is a pair for the .357 revolver.

Bunkerman said...

the .22's are for cheap practice.

Bunkerman said...

I think keeping home protection to one firearm is rather stupid. I keep five plus some knives & a battle ax.

;)

maverick said...

much appreciated Bman...well done

Frosty said...

Bunk...nonono 9mm or 362 (30.06)...shame on you...the most universal calibers a must have...feild strip the dead enemy of ammo etc....can't be certain ammo can be purchased worst case.

Bunkerman said...

shotgun is the Benelli semi-auto, so I can cover left-handed corners without exposing myself.

loaded with two rounds #7 birdshot, then heavy #1 buck & slugs in a mix.

plenty of spare cartridges in a bandolier plus six in a "sidesaddle"

Bunkerman said...

the Glock is 9mm

Good point re 30-06; but .308 is rather common now.

Mine are Garands & a Remington 700 BDL with fine scope.

IFF I was in more "action", the 9mm firearm would be the Uzi.

I have some 7.62x39 rifles, but not my favs.
I don't intend to go on "action" missions overseas at my age.

;)

Bud said...

'five plus some knives & a battle ax'

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

PS......what ?? no tomahawk ??

Bud said...

great list Bman...................thanks

Bud said...

ace did i see you on this week's episode of Jersey Shore ?? you're the fag.....right ??

'so predictable'

'tedious'

'fag jokes'

Bunkerman said...

btw, I know how to shoot the full auto AKs, & if I'm stripping dead of ammo, I can take the assault rifle, too.

;)

Bunkerman said...

no tomahawk in the house - the battle ax is much more effective.

;)

Bunkerman said...

oh, if you need to worry about armor or vehicles, the Barrett .50 BMG semi auto is the choice.

all that and one nigga in ur house ..pea pants, hand it over and run for hills

maverick said...

Bman...intruder in the house....are you grabbing the Benelli semi or Mossberg pump?

Spin-em said...

Frosty said...

Bunk chicago pmi 60.0...would that not indicate 3-4% gdp and signal job growth, as you anticipated?...yet you are sitting in jan puts... is there more to this story than you are sharing...I think so

mfl59 said...

Bunkerman if someone invaded the bunker do you think you'd have the stones to actually shoot and kill him?

Bunkerman said...

If its a home invasion & I notice in time, the Benelli.

The mossberg pump is for travel, since it's very short with a pistol grip.

no notice - the dogs delay them a bit & I get the Ruger GP 100 or one of three Smith .38's in one of the various hiding places.

If I have to do to the door, it's the S&W 642 in pocket or the derringger.

Bunkerman said...

sure, I'd put at least two in the center of mass.
