Gmen sack Pats ... I guess Brady was spending took much time with Giselle and not enough on the playbook. Great game .. but I went to bed at 8PM and missed the second half. That's the price of getting up at 4AM to read the news.
Asia markets are up strongly with miners leading. Miners are up strongly in Europe early. This is more reaction to the Chinese stake in RTP. I have thought for a long time that Chinese direct acquisition of miners made sense and was inevitable. The price rises in iron ore, copper, coal and other minerals must seem relentless to China and since they can see no end as China has so far to grow to catch up to the West, buying the resources makes a lot of sense. I own BHP, RTP, RIO, PCU, FCX and CCJ in the Alpha Fund for the long term.
WSJ says Hillary's poll leads have vaporized and that with proportional representation rules for the allocation of delegates, Obama is likely to get as many delegates as Hillary whether he wins or not. Obama has a big bank account and can spend a lot on later states.
McCain seems ready to lock up the nomination. Polls in California show McCain tied with Hillary, losing to Obama. This means the Presidential race is now wide open as it's so early.
A book I'm reading is "The Trouble with Physics" by Lee Smolin. It's very good, covering the major problems in physics and astrophysics that need to be solved, attempts at them via string theory, its failures and also covers other imaginative efforts from other directions. The book also describes sociological problems in the physics community and groupthink of the string theory researchers that close off other avenues of progress even though string theory seems to be a dead end. I recommend it.
PS: From Briefing, a possible bidding war for RTP might occur. "Rio Tinto: China Investment Corp has put up $120 billion at Chinalco's disposal should it decide to make a full bid for RTP - Times of London"

yes quite the game and even mern the mush won a few bucks.
so dont see anyone criticizing belichik for going for it on 4 and 12 and passing on a 49 yr field goal attempt.
was i the only one stunned by that decision?
i am surprised that "the dead" r getting together to tonite for obama.
hearing those tixs r getting over 400 from scalpers. at the gate it will be over 500.
whatever happened to free shows in SF?
lol
oh, and tom petty wasnt half bad last nite. they even let those guys jam a bit.
wasnt really buying the 16 yr olds knew the lyrics by heart.
next yr led zepplin of pink floyd?
oh yeah bman, zep 66-73, NOW THAT PASSES THE PEPSI CHALLENGE!
and u dont think roger watters has written some of the best songs, ever? (dark sid of the moon, the wall, wish u were). i will take those 3 albums over the bible any day!
i can hear spin now
"SHIT, the gmen won it all! i guess im stuck with coughlin for at least another 5 yrs"
rofl at tikki, he looks like such an idiot right about now.
rondie has a ring, he dont. he cud have but bolted a season too soon.
LMAO...mern......mfl mia...I think he needs bail money....Frosty with the call heard round the world yesterday!!!!!..rofl
I have those albums, mern - Zep, Pink Floyd - not as good as Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, etc., on and on.
They just can't play that well. The sound is rough, not smooth and melodious. The singing sucks. Like Bob Dylan - gravel voices.
Nothing like frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey band.
I liked them when young .. and ignorant of the better pre 1955 music ;-)
robert plant cudnt sing well from 66-73?????????????????
his voice died around 73, becuase u just cant sing octives above your natural tune and not kill your voice.
any way u slice, what happened in the 60's was a renaissance. it was like that one in a lifetime peak. it happens, u r there, u understand the importance, but it is fleeting, and u spend the rest of your life trying to reach that peak again.
that was the summer of 66. wasnt there, but still feel that way.
ya giant fans happy but they still want coughlin fired.
;-)
so is DC spending more time on steroids and football than the taliban back in charge of afghanistan?
sure seems like it.
if it comes to obama and mccain, i mite just vote for darky. just to see what happens if he gets in. but he better be careful. robert kennedy didnt even make it to nov. david duke will likely try to get a lynch mob together.
what poor taste in music...I may need to find another bolg to hang out in.
What do you like, frosty, ... the beer barrel polka ?
christtian hymns and sprititual songs...never can give thanks often enough.

I've written them many times - they just like to shout "fire"; very sad.
LMAO cramer is on howard stern right now
The key line they mentioned, but buried, was that the insurers aren't having to make many payments on claims. This is all hype & fear.
Roach Subprime ‘Dwarfs’ Dot-Com Bust
Think the subprime mortgage problem is just another version of the dot-com crash, or maybe an echo of the S&L crisis of old?
Think again, says Morgan Stanley Chairman Stephen Roach.
Speaking in Davos, Switzerland, Roach told investors that this time it really is different. Echoing similar comments by global financier George Soros and his former partner Jim Rogers, Roach said that the coming downturn will be severe.
Why? Because the portion of the economy linked to this collapse is six times larger than IT spending was at the time of the dot-com bust, according to reporting on the comments in the Financial Times.
This recession will be more than a year long and three times deeper than the last one, he warned. "The magnitude dwarfs anything we saw seven years ago," Roach said.
The problem has been easy money, Roach explained. Our national addiction to credit is simply on a different scale and its eventual cost will be higher than ever before.
Britain is in the same fix, Roach said, and there is little governments will be able to do to offset the coming pain for families and consumers.
"If we had been running our economies the old-fashioned way, for example, where saving and consumption were funded by income, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess we are in now,” Roach said.
Worse, the growth we have enjoyed over the past several years has been an illusion, fueled by that cheap credit binge on both sides of the Atlantic.
"Maybe the growth we have been realizing has been something of an illusion predicated on leveraging our assets, and unfortunately we didn't fully understand the risks we were taking on,” Roach said.
A turnaround now hangs largely on how governments decided to react. While lax regulation has fed the boom and blown it up into frightening proportions, now the risk will be too much regulation, Roach warned.
"There will be sand put in the gears of financial market innovation. Some of it will be justified but it will go too far. It's a significant risk," he said.
There is a lifeline being handed to the developed world, in the form of sovereign wealth funds from China and other Asian tiger economies, as well as oil-rich Gulf states, Roach suggested.
Roach was critical, though, of suggestions that foreign money deserved to be highly scrutinized.
"Why are we singling out sovereign wealth funds? Why shouldn't we ask the same of hedge funds, private equity or any other group of investors?” he said.
"Is it because these funds are coming from the Middle East, from China, areas that make us uncomfortable? Is this not thinly-veiled financial protectionism?” Roach asked.
LOL LOL
actually i agree. the regulators r starting to go overboard.
they dont want stockbrokers buying stocks anymore.
and the structured stuff they want brokers to buy is CRAPOLA!
Bunkerman...sounds like your beefer friends are all lined up against the tape with the blessing of the big cheifs on wall street...after the end of this reporting season everyone will bring numbers down to more realistic levels...WFC two new sell ratings today...timing indeed.
This is a good, solid budget," the president said. "It's not only an innovative budget in that it's coming to Congress over the Internet. It's a budget that's balanced -- gets to balance in 2012 and saves taxpayers money."
"It's a budget that keeps important objectives. One, it understands our top priority is to defend our country so we fund our military as well as fund the homeland security," Bush said. "Secondly, the budget keeps our economy growing.
oh man u cant make this up!
aren't the sell ratings a little late ?
The street just wants to generate commissions aka the vig.

One always has to remember the beefers can make Ms. Market dance any tune they wish for a few days - trying to gain fundamental insight from their antics is a total waste.
I saw the arlen interview..sounded silly......the only thing I have a problem with is why destroy the tapes?....What if down the road somebody come forward
....sign stealing pffftt
now if somebody gets the frequency Kenneth of the QB's helmet and sends it to a defensive LB who has a radio in his helmet?...now were talkin
so the beefers are makin the market 'dance any tune'.....huh?
if they are so powerful how come their returns lately have been poor?
today's market is just a reflection of buyers and sellers appetite for stox
this is not a breakdancing contest
Bud..as your newly appointed lawyer..I would stongly advise you that youre talkin out your azz.....that'll be $1100 sir..lol
beefers are just punching each other out, like drunks in a saloon, making Lily dance as they do it.
hearing of a new double juice darkside product that contains all the Bunkerman's holdings...name beffers revenge...ticker, FUCU, sponsor sounds like wu tang financial.
today is also the first day the mutual funds r getting some call ins.
like the fidelity reps who r hearing "WTF my house imploded, in value. i just lost 10% in stocks, and my credit cards, for the holidays, give me high blood pressure. spare me the bullshit, send me my money"
i wonder how much of that is going on?
where that middle class go?
http://www.iclips.net/deadheadsforobama.php
that the link for the show tonite.
i know they cant sing, but thats never been the point.
i need to fine tune my setlist projections. in the 2nd set, 2nd or 3rd song in, bob will strap on an accoustic and bust out a dylan classic. either "hard rain gonna fall" or "masters of war". probably da latter.
i cud be in SF right now if i wud have seen the tixs sooner.
that is the devil's music.
I lit out from Reno
I was trailed by twenty hounds
Didn't get to sleep that night
Till the morning came around
I set out running but I take my time
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight
I might get some sleep tonight
I ran into the Devil, babe
He loaned me twenty bills
I spent that night in Utah
In a cave up in the hills
I set out running but I take my time
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight
I might get some sleep tonight
YEP SURE IS!
long live satan!
Beefer raid!!!
MLF59...sounds like you're still drunk :)

Boca Raton (AP) -- Three men were killed by a gunman after an argument broke out in a restaurant while the Super Bowl was being shown on television, police said.
No arrests had been made Monday.
The shooting happened Sunday night at the Uno Chicago Grill restaurant, part of a dining, shopping and entertainment complex near FedEx Field in the Largo area, Prince George's County police said.
Two of the men were shot in the restaurant's bar area and the third was shot outside in a parking lot.
Police said they believe all three men were killed by a single shooter.
Investigators were trying to determine what prompted the argument, which witnesses said occurred after one team scored during the Super Bowl, won by the New York Giants over the New England Patriots.
