What's Up Wednesday?

"South Park" TV show is hilariously moronic & fun. A "must Tivo". Thanks, Mern.

Got a new "Vista" computer (Dell) - so far, it's OK. The big screen (22") is interesting - at highest resolution, it's still readable at 4 feet when I swing my chair. I wonder if I can get rid of one or more of the three quad monitor setups I have now over time? Have to experiment.

AA had good earnings. I don't like that company - no position.

XLE in blue sky territory. XLE has broken up out of the ascending triangle. The weekly chart shows an uptrend channel. But I would NOT add to positions here. Those stocks correct violently. I manage my positions on energy & materials stocks using "buy dips, sell rips" tactics.

After viewing many charts over a few years, I think high volume is primarily a turning point indicator, and means little for trend confirmation. That's what Jesse Livermore thought, too. Stocks can move up in blue sky territory on light volume & it's still real buyers. Ditto for indices and ETFs.

FOMC minutes today at 2PM EDT. Those are important, as is the PPI on Friday.

PS: I checked the 3-2-1 crack spread & it's enormous, now at 24, vs. 11-13 base level. With the hole dug for gasoline inventories & demand increasing soon, I have a hard time seeing how they can catch up. I suspect the formula rules are creating havoc, and they make importing harder.

be interesting to see how AA reacts to decent #'s. im short 1500 at 35.33.

funny how quickly those high beta bios turned into shorts yesterday.

im soooo sick of this imus thing. so a few sponsors pull thier ads. guess what? his ratings r gonna go up, and that will bring the advertisers back.

i mean if kobe can, cough, rape and or just cheat on his wife with a nappy headed white cracker, and still have endorsements and the most popular uni in the world, then y cant don come back for this.

personally ive always thought don was a cracker tool.

whats next dan patrick gonna get suspended for calling pac man jones a wanna be gangster, thug?

then u have black people like my wife who think what he did was so bad. yet we sit down and watch comedians make fun of white, black and asians and LOL the whole time.

its one thing to enjoy racial humor, its another thing to actually feel u r superior becuase of your lack of tan.

here is gud one i heard at the improv a few weeks back that actually got some boos.

"my friend is having a kid, they r naming him christian. only christians name thier children after thier religion. u dont see jewish people naming thier kids, Jewy. or muslims naming thier kids "insane"

he quickly dodged the boo birds by getting even worse. talking about girl scouts selling cookies. "ya ill take a box of thin mints and your phone #. and how do i become a den mother"

its just a joke ROFL

sweet almost safe to go back to church

NEW YORK - The nation's Roman Catholic bishops and religious orders received 714 claims of clergy sex abuse in 2006, the second consecutive year the number of allegations has dropped, according to a new report on the church's efforts to protect children. The vast majority of claims date back decades.

i seriously cant believe my family still goes to catholic church. after all this bs, how can u believe in it. maybe becuase its a cult. i still remember every prayer out there. they were beat into my head before i understood what i saying. just like the "pledge of allegiance". "one nation, under god?" what does that mean? who's god. my god. muslim americans god? or the mormons god?

guess time to hit some more AA and pray

Good point re Kobe.

I never thought Imus was that funny, but being outrageous was always part of his act.

I think Imus's problem might be that he used "civilians" as targets for his attempt at humor. Meaning that they not actors or politician or public figures.

Of course if he made whitey jokes, no one would complain. Especially not me.

Guess I'd better look up "nappy" in the urban dictionary.

"jerk store" rofl

one thing i dont miss about working in a boiler room were the jerk managers.

i never took it real seriously, but never let my guard down. u had to hide your book at nite and your leads.
and when i quit, my best friend, partner, housemate, tried to steal my whole business.

now that was fun. we lived together for 6 months after that and i didnt say a word to him. the other guy moved out becuase he didnt feel comfortable.
i wanted to be a man about it, fight it out and be done with it. im 5'8. he is about 6'2 and everytime i wanted to hit, he wud sit down and say he wud call the cops.

so i just stole his weed and put my dogs poop under, and in his bed.
he never said a thing to me.

i remember lighting firecrackers and bottlerockets under his door, while he was sleeping.

ah to be 25 again.

i feel like im HGH or something. maybe its because i wieghed myself sat nite and have been running for an hour the last 3 days. got practice tonight, thats 90 minutes or running.
cutting caloric intact to about 1600 a day which aint easy with 6 miller lites factored in. goal is 155 by end of may. i was 175 sat. 171 this am

I was at a big name firm & they wanted me to go work for a jerk/thief in a reorganization. So I left & my partner followed to go on our own. Best thing we ever did - it sucked working hard to make someone else rich. They never paid us a fair split. Thieves/liars/knaves. Grrr.

heres sheryl crow about her interview with joe kernen

After a short night’s sleep on the bus, Laurie and I got up early to do CNBC. We were interviewed live, via earpiece, by a militant sceptic who’s sole objective seemed to be to disprove us and the theory of global warming at every turn.

Now, I’m not exactly sure what planet this guy is living on (or what planet he thinks he’s living on, perhaps one that is not suffering the extreme weather patterns that planet earth is experiencing) but to argue that global warming does not exist and that the IPCC reports are a political maneuver, is irresponsible and overtly unethical…and at 7:30 in the morning, just plain irritating. Laurie David may be a great mom, a fun girlfriend and busmate, and absolutely adorable but let me tell you, when it comes to the subject of global warming, you better step back because she is not going to go down without a fight.

ive watched joe for 14 yrs. he doesnt care, hes just playing devils advocate. that one emailer was right. this global warming thing is becoming a cult. and the leaders dont have degrees from mit or harvard in the right subjects.

hmmmmmmmm

It's the human causation that's the issue. The last peak warmth was the 12th century. Then the earth cooled into the 17 century. Since then it's been warming. No one claims that humans have had any effect except for the past 20-30 years or so.

When one asks for "proof" of human causation, all they do is blab about computer models. Those models don't fit the data.

IIFF I was paranoid, I'd think it was a totalitarian conspiracy to control everyone. Nahhh. Hmmm. ;-)

No reason to buy this dip until the Fed minutes come out. I think all that Bubblevision talk about a record number of consecutive DJIA up days was bear-baiting. We'll see. Waiting.

mern said...

leisman asks how do u trade slowly growth and higher inflation. deliah knows the answer.

"the song that deliah sung, was look out stagger lee"

its the reality when does it become the prevailing perception is the big question

mern said...

s&P 1440 gone for now. toddo thinks next stop 1410

borat says very nice

Bud said...

Imus's ratings will stay the same or go up if they keep him. But are the gutless pussy network executives gonna let someone like Al Sharpton push them around? I would tell Al to shove it. I am an Imus listener and it's a joke if he gets fired.

Bunkerman said...

Hmm. S&P 50 DMA around 1428 cash & rough trendline there might be support after 1440, assuming 1440 is violated at the close.

I still think nothing has changed & real buyers lurk lower. Unless next core inflation (CPI) number is another uptick.

Bunkerman said...

Finally a warm afernoon. Am taking dogs for 4 mile walk with Mrs. B. Good luck.

Catholic leaders say abuse-related costs have exceeded $1.5 billion since 1950. More than 13,000 molestation claims have been filed against clergy since then

imagine how many didnt come forward.

im quite sure when u die, u get there. there will be others at the pearly gates, and some white guy reads off the sheet. the correct religion is mormon, yes mormon.

everyone else gets flushed

i wonder y sharpton doesnt ask the record labels that use black artists, that have lyrics that make "nappy looking ho's" look as ferious as a neutered manatee.

y isnt sharpton calling those labels asking for thier jobs?

i dont understand the fade on the same data that we rallied on, but i didnt understand that either.

so the house is liquid and as long as corporates behave bears gonna have to be fast.

if the bond market ever figures out we r in stagflation mode. its the end of the world as we know and ill feel fine
