I didn't expect to post today, but while buying a pastrami sub at the local pizza/sub shop I was deeply embarrassed by the action of another member of the male sex. He had a $7+ tab, and asked if he could pay by credit card. How demeaning!
A real MAN is supposed to carry a roll or a money clip & be able to peel off a sawbuck or a $20. It's OK for ladies to pay such a small amount by credit or debit card, since there's nothing wrong about ladies not carrying much cash. But a GUY!!! Sheesh.
That reminded me of a common occurrence in the late 1980s at the athletic club bar. I'd be having a Guinness or an Irish whiskey, and some strapping young man, fresh from his workout, would order a ... Coors lite ... or ... a glass of wine. Grrrrrrrrr. Deeply embarrassing for all men.

way way more embarrased for the NBA. y not just end the playoffs, hand the spurs the trophy and call it a summer? david stern needs to die!
ive been staying up till 1am, watching the best basketball series ive seen since the 80's (sixers celtics, type series). ive watched the refs give the spurs break after break for 4 games. and it was working. the spurs were 2 minutes from being up 3 games to 1. until the suns went on a 16 to 3 run to steal the game.
just as it became obvious the "dirty" spurs gave it up at home. bob "big shot" horry, committed a nasty, for no reason, try to hurt thier best player, right in front of the suns bence, jarring foul. it was brillant on his part. becuase 2 of the suns starters each placed thier foot on the court and r out of the 5th game.
meanwhile tim duncan did the exact samething in the first half on a hard foul. his foot clearly was on the court, but no suspension for timmy? WTF?????????
david stern just layed out a punishment that played right into the spurs and horry, who were the cause of the entire event.
man i hope the suns just play so pissed tonite they smoke those jerks! spurs have 3 rings already, a 4th shud be earned, not handed to em by david stern.
the NBA wants whitey to start watching again. well we were, and the west is providing some of the best action in 2 decades but whats the point if david stern had already carved the spurs name onto the trophy.
nash has been head butted, but parker didnt do that on purpose. bowen kneed him the groin and that was clearly meant (where was the suspension on that). and then the boarding by horry, with 20 seconds to go and the game was over.
nash (who is a modern version of bob cousy), shud just wear a big X on his body becuase its clear Popovich had put a bounty on nashs butt.
so in my eyes Popovich shud be out for the remainder of the series, bowen and horry as well. and nothing shud have happend to stoudamire or diao.
finally im in the same ball park as mark cuban in something. we both hate david stern with a mad passion. what a bunch of bs!
